Our Story
After 20 years working in the hospitality sector, Myhandyvan founder Nathan developed a passion for exceptional service. His experience in training teams, writing operational standards and delivering high quality service shaped the foundations of Myhandyvan.
When he launched the company in January 2023, Nathan set out to bring genuine hospitality to the removals industry. He spent months recruiting experienced, friendly professionals who shared his commitment to excellence. Today, the team has grown to eight skilled movers with years of experience in home removals and office relocations.
But the story didn’t stop there…
How Our Customers Shaped What We Do
As we helped people move home, something became clear: customers trusted us. They liked how we worked — tidy, careful, respectful — and they began asking if we could help with more than just the move.
It started with disassembly and reassembly of furniture. Then came the questions we heard almost daily:
“While you’re here, could you just take a look at this…?”
- A dripping tap.
- A door that wouldn’t close.
- A fence panel that needed fixing.
- A shelf that needed putting up.
Before long, customers were calling us weeks or months after their move, asking if we could come back to help with small repairs. Without advertising a single handyman service, we found ourselves completing three to four repair jobs every week, purely through word of mouth.
That’s how our Handyman & Property Maintenance service was born — not from a business plan, but from genuine customer demand.
The Natural Step Into Kitchen Fitting
As the handyman side of the business grew, so did the complexity of the work. We were assembling more flatpack units, fitting more cabinets, and helping customers improve their homes in bigger ways.
Kitchen fitting became the natural next step.
In early 2026, Nathan and Dale decided to invest properly in this direction. They completed accredited kitchen fitting courses and spent time working alongside established kitchen fitting teams to gain real world, hands on experience. We learned the right techniques, the right order of work, and the level of precision a good kitchen demands.
Today, we offer great value, carefully fitted kitchens across Huddersfield and West Yorkshire — built on the same principles that shaped our removals and handyman work:
